I’m in Italy right now. I taught last weekend in a place called Sasso Marconi outside of Bologna, and now I’m relaxing for a few days with my friends Silvia and Bruno in Genova. Though I’m not really taking advantage of being in wonderful Italy (I’m taking the downtime to try to get my business in order, so I’m spending most of my time on my laptop), still it’s always so great to be here! The Italians are wonderful (and crazy!), the pesto is so good here in Genova, and when we watched the first Italian World Cup match the other night, we could hear the crowds roaring outside. Viva Italia!

I’m in Buenos Aires right now, a beautiful city that feels like Barcelona, Milan and Paris rolled into one, but with a good layer of dust. I am at this moment in Paris – the city you just can’t stop taking photos of – and there will be many a photo to come on this blog, but in the meantime, here’s a taste with this little compilation of the many textures to be savored at the Chateau de Versailles. What a wonderful day we had! Oh the opulence, oh the grandeur, more photos to come!

Can’t wait for my holiday in Paris with my mum next week! I haven’t seen her for about 10 months (she lives in Dubai) and won’t see her again until who knows when. Plus it’s a holiday – no working, no dancing, no commitments! Not that I’m complaining right now – I just arrived in Marseilles for the Provence Swing Dance Festival. Weather seems warm and I get a full night’s rest in my hotel before the festival begins tomorrow, quite a luxury!
